So, we did a thing! We bought the house...across the street from my parents!
Our low offer was accepted almost immediately, I think the owners (my parents neighbors) had a soft spot for our story and the idea that we would love my parents to have their grandkids only a few hundred yards away.
“You plan and God laughs.”
We had been searching for a new home, something shiny, new, move-in ready and with zero projects. But as they say, “You plan and God laughs.” So, here we are, starting a new adventure in our 1978 ranch-style home right where we belong… on Gibson Way.
We're The Gibsons on Gibson Way!

This old house has great bones and we have big plans for her! It was NOT AT ALL what we had planned (read our previous blog posts for the story) but we're trusting that everything came together exactly as it was supposed to.
We had taken on some minor home renovation projects in the past, it almost seems laughable to call them that compared to what we were tackling (painting, refinishing cabinets, adding hardware, changing out light fixtures, hanging a barn door, etc.) We knew this would be the biggest project we had ever tackled. We had a small budget, big dreams, a toddler, a baby, and virtually zero renovation experience.
Ready or not, here we go!!
Here's a quick tour with listing photos and photos we took before moving in:
